You may want to know the shortest bible verse, for the ease of memorising them or just out of curiosity.

With the Bible being a detailed book of God’s word, we can easily get lost in its many chapters and verses.

But did you know that there are quite a few short Bible verses?

Some of them are only two words long!

We will explore a few of the shortest Bible verses, so if you’re ever feeling lost in the Bible or just looking for some quick encouragement, these verses are a great place to start!

Shortest bible verse

1. John 11:35

“Jesus wept.”

John 11:35

This verse is significant because it shows the human side of Jesus.

Throughout the Gospels, Jesus is portrayed as compassionate and caring for others; this verse is just one example.

2. 1 Thessalonians 5:17

“Pray without ceasing.”

1 Thessalonians 5:17

Prayer is such a powerful way to connect with the Lord.

There is nothing like an honest prayer to feel God’s presence in our lives and our homes.

3. Colossians 3:2

“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”

Colossians 3:2

An easy Bible verse to remember, that is also a good reminder that we need to focus on things beyond what the world offers.

Shift focus from man-made worldly things and stay focussed on our Heavenly Father and His plans in your life.

4. Luke 1:37

“For with God nothing shall be impossible.”

Luke 1:37

One of the shortest, yet powerful Bible verses, that tells you how you can trust God to deliver you from whatever hurdle you are facing in your life right now.

God is with you, and nothing is impossible when you trust in Him.

5. Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

Jeremiah 29:11

God knows the thoughts He has for us are of peace and to provide us with hope.

These verses remind us that no matter what we may be going through, God is still in control, and His plan for our lives is always good – even though it might not feel like that now.

6. Psalm 103:8

“The Lord is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.”

8. Proverbs 3:6

This is excellent advice for living a successful and meaningful life.

When we trust the Lord, we put our faith in something bigger than ourselves.

9. Philippians 4:13

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Philippians 4:13

We may not be able to do everything on our own, but with Christ’s help, we can accomplish anything.

10. Isaiah 40:8

11. Lamentations 3:22

“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, Because his compassions fail not.”

Great is His faithfulness!

What a tremendous promise these verses offer us.

No matter our circumstances, we can always count on God’s mercy and faithfulness.

matthew 6:34

Each Day has enough trouble of its own. This is a reminder to live in the present and not worry about what may or may not happen in the future.

13. Psalm 117:2
