If you are seeking validation from men and women, you may probably still fall short of the mark. And this is only because everyone evaluates on a different parameter, usually with a high standard.
You may be valued for your success, your confidence, your personality, your wealth, or your appearance.
But with God it’s different.
He does not look at personality, wealth or outward appearance.
In fact, Gods’ standard is quite the opposite.
He is after those who are humble, weak and easily pliable – ready to submit to the will of God.
God’s choice for a King
For example, in Samuel 16 we can read how and who God chose to be the King of Israel through Samuel.
God sent Samuel to Bethlehem to meet Jesse and to make one of his sons the new King of Israel after King Saul. Jesse had eight sons, seven of whom were good looking and fit to be king. But they were all rejected by God. Then the last son of Jesse was called, he was David who was tending the sheep. David was chosen by God and anointed by Samuel to be filled with the Spirit of God.
The seven handsome sons of Jesse were shown before Samuel to be chosen as king, BUT GOD,
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
God also explains His reason for choosing David. He is a God who does not consider the outward appearance but looks at our heart. David had faith and was obedient, and that is what God saw in him.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21
When we come to realise that without God we are nothing, God then elevates us and blesses. As long as we remain in Jesus, He is our identity.

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5
When we come to the end of ourselves and say, “God, I cannot do this anymore in my own strength. Please help me get through this problem.” This is when God steps in and reveals His glory through us.
As a true believer in Christ, your identity lies in Christ.
Just as Jesus took our sins on the Cross and buried it there making us a new creation, we are now children of God.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17
And to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Ephesians 4:24
As children of God, there is nothing more you can do to be better than who you already are through Him.
Your strength comes from the Lord, and His light shines through you, so that you may be a vessel of light to others.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16
