Here are some powerful prayers for spiritual battles, that will equip you through the written word of God.
The Bible tells us,
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 6:12
This Chapter in Ephesians goes on to say in verse 18, that we are pray in the Spirit at all times.
Prayer is the only most powerful way to defeat the plans of the enemy, and establish the plans of Jesus over our lives.
When facing these battles, our focus must remain on Jesus at all times, praying and believing that we may receive our portion of blessings, according to His will.
Prayers for Spiritual Battle

1. Prayer to Cancel the Plans of the Enemy
Although the disciples were anointed by Jesus to cast out sickness and unclean spirits, they were unable to help a boy who was oppressed by an unclean spirit. So the father of the boy, brought him to Jesus and Jesus instantly set the boy free.
When the disciples asked Jesus why they weren’t able to do the same, Jesus replied:
However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting. Matthew 17:21 (NKJV)
Jesus teaches us the importance of prayer, right there.
Fasting along with prayer helps us to shift our focus from our problems to Jesus. When we are fully focussed on God, we will be able to pray strong, bold prayers and resist the attacks of the enemy.
Prayer to cancel the enemy schemes:
Father, I pray today, not in my own strength, but in the strength than comes from the Holy Spirit inside of me. Help me remain focussed on Your Word, as I believe You have all the power and authority to block the plans of the enemy over me. May Your will be done for my life and I pray for restoration of all that was stolen from me. No matter what comes against me, I will not go against You, my Lord, and I will bow down to no one but You. I will not compromise because of my situation, but will move forward in the Mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
2. Powerful Prayer for Protection
A powerful prayer of protection is in Psalm 91.
This prayer teaches us to find our strength in the Lord and to trust in Him alone. The Lord our God, is the One who has the power and authority over every plan of the enemy. When we rest on strong foundations we will be protected. And our foundation and the Rock, who is Christ Jesus (1 Corinthians 10:4).
For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Psalm 91:3-5
Prayer of Protection
Father, You teach us to put our trust in You. Today me and my household stand before You believing in the written Word that No weapon formed against us will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Cover us with Your blanket of protection and lead us toward still waters. May we soon see restoration, deliverance, healing and blessings, in the mighty name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
3. Prayer Against Spiritual Attack
Always be in good faith and strength, remembering that even in the midst of the deepest problems, God is working out our breakthrough. He gives us the power to overcome obstacles and strengthens us to face our problems. While the problem may seem big, our God is bigger, and it’s only a matter of time before we will taste victory.
Following on from the same story of the oppressed boy, the father of the son, asks if Jesus can heal his son. And Jesus replies:
“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” Mark 9:23
Mark 11:24 also sets out the way we receive our breakthrough – pray, believe and receive.
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Isaiah 40:28-29 (KJV)
4. Everyday Prayer for your Spiritual Battle
1 Thessalonians 5:17 teaches us to pray without ceasing.
There are different ways that Jesus prayed – with His face to the ground (Matthew 26:39), in solitude (Mark 1:35), kneeling down (Luke 22:41). Check out the full list of how Jesus prayed and how He taught us to pray here.
The Bible teaches us that we are to put on the full armor of God as we pray, which is:
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:13-17
Everyday Prayer for Spiritual Battle:
Heavenly Father, Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light on my path (Psalm 119:105). I take refuge and courage in Your word, and believe with all my heart that I am protected by the power of the Holy Spirit. Lord Jesus, You are the vine and we are the branches, as long as we remain in You we are safe, because without You we can do nothing (John 15:5). I resist every plan of the enemy, as I am a child of the Most High, and I was bought by the precious blood of Jesus. He who is in me is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4), and I believe this with all my heart. I put my trust in Jesus and make this prayer through His Mighty name. Amen.
Jesus is Far Above all Dominion, Power and Authority
Finally, let this bible verse be a constant reminder of the power and authority of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31).
Far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. Ephesians 1:21
