Ephesians Chapter 1
1. An Inheritance
Chapter 1 opens with blessings and a thanksgiving prayer (verses 15-23).
We are redeemed and forgiven by the grace of God – through the precious blood of His only Son Jesus Christ.
This means that we hold a special inheritance in the Kingdom of God, through Christ Jesus – verse 11.
➡ How do we receive this inheritance? ➡ the Holy Spirit
➡ How do we receive the Holy Spirit? ➡ Hear the word (Gospel of Salvation) and believe in Jesus (verse 13)
Ephesians Chapter 2
1. Faith or Works?
Before we believed in Jesus, we have all walked in disobedience and in worldly passions and desires (verse 2-3).
But God, through His love and mercy, saved us through the sacrifice of Christ (verses 4-6).
➡ Saved by our Faith or by our Works?
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
This is an important bible verse on salvation that reminds us that we are saved only by the grace of God through Jesus.
➡ We are not saved because of the good things we do.
➡ We are saved because it’s a gift God gives to those who believe in Jesus.
The good things that we do here on earth are the fruit of the Spirit which is a result of our salvation through Christ.
May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation – the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ – for this will bring much glory and praise to God. Philippians 1:11 (NLT)
In the book of Galatians, we see that while Peter was sent to preach to the Jews, Paul went to preach to the Gentiles (anyone who wasn’t a Jew).
The Jews and the non-Jews who were once set apart, are now united together in the one body of Christ. So now anyone who believes in Jesus is saved.
Verses 11-22 show how Gentiles are also called to be fellow citizens of the house of God.

Now all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us. Ephesians 2:18 (NLT)
Ephesians Chapter 3
1. Mystery of the Gospel
Paul reveals that the mystery of the Gospel has been revealed to him through Christ Jesus.
The Mystery ➡ Both Jews and Gentiles are fellow heirs who share in the same blessings and are redeemed through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Verse 6 explains how this plan of God, was kept secret from the beginning and is now revealed to all by His Spirit.
And this is God’s plan: Both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News share equally in the riches inherited by God’s children. Both are part of the same body, and both enjoy the promise of blessings because they belong to Christ Jesus. Ephesians 3:6 (NLT)
In verses 7-13 he explains how this mystery was previously hidden, but is now revealed and make known to all.
2. Spiritual Strength
Paul prays that we may be strengthened through the Holy Spirit, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts (verse 17). As we strengthen ourselves in the Holy Spirit, Christ will make His home in our hearts. He will strengthen us in God’s love as we continue to trust in Him.
Ephesians Chapter 4
1. Unity
I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called. Ephesians 4:1
