Hedge of Protection Scriptures to Pray Over Your Home

In the book of Job, we see that Job was an upright and blamelss man. He had ten children and was prosperous in all the works of his hand. Next, we shift to the heavenly realm and we see Satan present himself before God. It is here we see a series of conservations between God and satan regarding the character of Job. Satan argues that Job fears God only because, God has put a hedge of protection around him and his house. And that God has also blessed him in all that he does.

You can read this in Job 1:1-12. But one of the main parts of the story is that God had placed a hedge of protection around Job and around his home.

We can also in our prayers ask for God to place a hedge of protection around our family and our home using scripture. Below are some bible verses that you can either memorize and incorporate in your daily prayers.

These verses remind us about who we are in Christ and the authority we have as believers. God is our refuge and no plans of the enemy that comes against us will prosper, in Jesus name.

Isaiah 54:17

 No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.

Psalm 5:11

But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you.

Psalm 18:2

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Psalm 121:8

The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.

Matthew 7:24-25

Jesus said:

Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.

2 Kings 6:16-17

He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Psalm 144:2

He is my steadfast love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield and he in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.

How to Use these Scriptures in a “Hedge of Protection” prayer

Begin by praying to the Father and thank Him for all that He has done for you. Declare the power of God’s word with this bible verse in Isaiah 40:8, The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever. Speaking out loud the authority of God’s word is important not just to us but also for the enemy who is coming against us. Next, as Philippians 4:6 tells us, that with prayer and thanksgiving we can make our requests known to God. Whatever it may be that is troubling you, bring it before God. Now use the bible verses above that apply to your situation, and pray a hedge of protection over your home. Plead the blood of Jesus over your family and home and conclude your prayer in Jesus name. In John 14:13 Jesus spoke to His disciples saying, Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

It is the will of God that His people should prosper, so pray with boldness and confidence in the finished work of Christ on the Cross.
