This is how I enter into God’s presence and encounter His love – Every. Single. Time.

And you can too.

What We May Already Know

We often hear that we are to read the bible, study His word and seek God in prayer.

That we can encounter God through His presence by meditating on His word.

While all of this is true, there are certain specific things we can do to feel the love of God in our lives no matter how big or small a believer we are.

Often we sit to pray but don’t know how to begin.

Or we open the bible but are confused what to read.

If this sounds like you, you may want to read these 3 simple ways to encounter God’s presence wherever you are.

3 Ways to Enter into God’s Presence

1. The Right Worship

When you are ready to devote your time to enter into God’s presence, it is always best to start with the right worship music.

Classical Christian music that exalts God, rather than ourselves is the best way to worship God.

While an encouraging song can be motivating and inspiring, a song that praises God is even more powerful. Loud and heavy instrumentals can also be a distraction and deviate us from God’s presence.

Christian Music to me is one that glorifies God. I enjoy listening to Steve Moctezuma’s collections, of some of the best Christian songs that gives God the glory.

This is why Jesus said,

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33

This shifts our focus from our troubles to our Saviour, and brings a change in the atmosphere. We begin to focus on the One who can save us, rather than the problems around us.

We know that troubles are inevitable in the world that we live in, but we draw our strength from Jesus. Since it is a challenging world we face, we set our eyes on Jesus that He stands with us through it all.

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

2. The Right Scripture

Instead of reading a random bible verse, choose a scripture that is close to your heart. One that reminds you of a time when God showed you favor or one that represents God’s love.

If you don’t have one, Isaiah 43 is one bible verse that simply pours out God’s love in the bible.

This is in the King James Version – but you can choose a translation of your choice.

Isaiah 43:1-3

But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob,

And he who formed thee, O Israel,

Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by name;

thou art mine.

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee;

and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee;

when thou walkest through the fire thou shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

For I Am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, they Saviour.

This bible verse is so powerful, it always gets to me instantly. The magnitude of the love of God for His people is incredibly deep and is wonderfully displayed in this scripture.

3. The Right Events

If you don’t already feel the love and presence of God by now, begin to recollect all the times God came through for you.

No matter how big or small they were, there are definitely times where God saved us or delivered or blessed us with something only He could do.

We often push aside things that God has done in the past, and focus on what God needs to be doing for us moving forward. Sometimes remembering His previous gifts in our lives, are reasons to believe that God will do it again, in His own perfect timing.
