This famous sermon, found in the Gospel of Matthew and in the Gospel of Luke, is a collection of teachings from Jesus that cover a wide range of topics, that align with the kingdom of God.
The Sermon on the Mount is considered by many, to be one of the most important and influential passages in the entire Bible.

The Beatitudes Verse
Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount begins with the 8 Beatitudes, which are listed below in order.
These eight blessings is one of the most famous teachings of Jesus and often considered to be the core of His message.
1. Blessed Are the Poor in Spirit
The first Beatitude is “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:3
This statement has been interpreted in different ways, but it generally refers to those who are humble and recognize their spiritual poverty. They are open to receiving God’s grace and are willing to rely on Him for everything.
2. Blessed Are Those Who Mourn
The second Beatitude is “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Matthew 5:4
This statement refers to those who grieve over their sins and the brokenness of the world. They are promised comfort and healing through God’s love and mercy.
3. Blessed Are the Meek
The third Beatitude is “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5
This statement refers to those who are gentle and humble, not seeking power or control. They will ultimately be rewarded with God’s blessings and the inheritance of His kingdom.
4. Blessed Are Those Who Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness
The fourth Beatitude is “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” Matthew 5:6
This statement refers to those who have a deep desire for justice and righteousness based on the Word of God. They will be satisfied through God’s provision and the fulfilment of His promises.
5. Blessed Are the Merciful
The fifth Beatitude is “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” Matthew 5:7
This refers to those who show compassion and forgiveness to others. They will receive God’s mercy in return and experience the freedom and joy that comes from a merciful heart.
6. Blessed Are the Pure in Heart
The sixth Beatitude is “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” Matthew 5:8
This verse refers to those who have a sincere and undivided heart, free from hypocrisy and deceit. They will have the privilege of seeing God and experiencing His presence in their lives.
7. Blessed Are the Peacemakers
The seventh Beatitude is “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” Matthew 5:9
This is for those who work to bring about peace and reconciliation in the world. They will be recognized as children of God and will experience the blessings of His kingdom.
8. Blessed Are Those Who Are Persecuted
The final eighth Beatitude is “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:10
This piece of scripture refers to those who suffer for doing what is right and just. They will be rewarded with the ultimate blessing of God’s kingdom and the eternal joy that comes with it.
Overall, the Beatitudes serve as a powerful reminder of the values and priorities that Jesus taught. They challenge us to live with humility, compassion, and a deep desire for righteousness.

Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him.
And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Memorize The 8 Beatitudes
If you can write this down and memorize them, I would encourage you to do so. Writing it down actually helps remembering scriptures. And having them all down in one book actually makes it easy to meditate on during prayer time.
